Want to Be a Best Places to Work Winner? Here’s What to Do

Before even opening that submission form, read this. Winning…

Before even opening that submission form, read this. Winning Best Places to Work (BPTW) is an amazing recognition, but don’t lose sight of what that recognition really means. Having happy, satisfied employees is number one. Once you achieve that, the awards will come.

We’ve won BPTW dozens of times across our Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa offices. To celebrate this year’s wins, we asked employees to share their thoughts and advice.

What’s your favorite event at iVenture?
The Christmas party! It’s a time for all employees to be together. We get to see everyone from Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa and our remote teammates.
It’s like visiting family and friends. Once we see each other, it’s like we’ve never been apart.
What advice would you give other companies looking to be a BPTW?
If you have a mission or core values, live by them! They can’t be in a binder tucked away. They’re a living, breathing part of your business.
Give employees a voice, then listen and act! Employees are the foundation and first line. They know a lot, trust them.
Sean Clark, Team Lead
Sean ClarkWhat is the most important part of our culture to you?
Our executive team doesn’t just dictate the culture, they own it. It seems simple, but so many companies can’t do it.
While other leaders expect employees to fall in line, our executives guide the way. They’re the shining example we echo.
What advice would you give other companies looking to be a BPTW?
Honesty builds trust. Trust builds success. Speak plainly with your employees, encourage feedback and make changes where necessary. Your company culture is never finished. You’ve got to work on it every day.
Mallory Thomas, Marketing Manager
Mallory ThomasWhat makes our culture different from others?
Our culture is dependent on getting along with each other. We make it work because we all have the same goal — to deliver quality IT service.
The same values we deliver to our clients, we deliver to ourselves.
What advice would you give other companies looking to be a BPTW?

Your culture has to come from the top down. You have to stay engaged with all levels of your company. You have to be the example of your culture.
